Announcements

Many young people are looking to connect with peers and adults who can help them feel supported, find a safe and productive way to spend some free time, or access necessary services. Green Chimneys’ Community Based Services provides Putnam County youth a place to go, an outlet for emotions, and opportunities to enjoy organized activities.
Located in the Village of Brewster, our Community Outreach Center is the primary location for youth-focused activities. The Center offers free after-school, evening and weekend activities; intervention and prevention programs; and counseling services.
Intervention and crisis services for teens, particularly at risk, include street outreach and a temporary youth shelter.
Programs are free of charge and available throughout the year. Special programming is offered during summer months and school vacations.
If you are in urgent need of help, please call our 24-hour crisis hotline: 845.279.2588
The barn owl (Tyto alba) is the most widely distributed species of owl and one of the most widespread of all birds. It is also referred to as the common barn owl, to distinguish it from other species in its family, Tytonidae, which forms one of the two main lineages of living owls. Tyto alba literally means \”white owl\”. The barn owl is found almost everywhere in the world except polar and desert regions.
